Our bright and spacious Under 2s unit is housed on the first floor. It has its own separate entrance via a ramp making it pram friendly. The unit is separated into 2 large airy rooms. The baby room is a wonderful space, with high vaulted ceilings. It has an eating area with high chairs, a kitchen and a separate sleep room and changing area. There is a cosy area for our babies to chill and plenty of cuddles from our long established team of professional Early Years Practitioners, many of whom have over ten years’ service with us. There is a safe, enclosed outdoor area dedicated to the Under 2s unit and we aim to allow our babies to “feel the wind on their faces everyday”.
Each baby has an allocated Key person who delivers their care each day, feeding back using a comprehensive daily diary sheet.
At around the age of 16-18 months, the babies move over to our Toddler Room. Here we move up a note with their ever growing independence, the high chairs are replaced with tables and chairs, the toddlers are encouraged to self-feed using cutlery, lots of messy play, dancing, laughing and learning throughout every aspect of their play. As they approach the age of two years, the key workers prepare your child fully for the transition from the Under 2s unit to the “big nursery”. A journal of your child’s learning and development is shared with you regularly and your input to it is always welcomed.
The Main Nursery – is situated on the ground floor. This houses 5 large, bright & busy rooms, the kitchen and the Nursery Office. We are a free flow nursery, allowing the children aged 2-4years freedom of choice to play and learn. The strong team of practitioners are deployed appropriately throughout the nursery, ensuring supervision and interaction is priority and that differentiation of activities to embedded. Each day the children have opportunities for mark making, constructing, creating, sharing and co-operating both indoors and outdoors. Their work is visible throughout the nursery in the form of paintings, art work and large photographs as well as our superheroes certificates used on a daily basis. At the end of each session, staff are allocated to feedback to each parent/carer on collection and we also encourage your child to tell you about their day.
